On November 20th, LifeTec Group will host a workshop for all early stage researchers (ESRs) involved in BIOGEL.

The BIOGEL Marie Skłodowska-Curie Innovative Training Networks (ITN-ETN) is a major European research and training consortium in the framework of H2020 programme focusing on developing innovative hydrogels and systems for (bio)medical applications.

The students, many of them working in academic institutes, will not only get an introduction into the company that LifeTec Group is, but also on how marketing strategies can bring you forward, not only in an industrial setting, but also in academia.

first-hand experiences

Afterwards they will move to the lab, where they can get first-hand experiences with some of our platforms such as the Cardiac Biosimulator Platform, Vascular Bioreactor Platform, the Osteochondral Platform and the ex vivo liver.

LifeTec Group - PhysioHeart ('beating heart') platform

Here they can see and learn how ex vivo models can be beneficial to study the applications of the hydrogels they are developing. Focus lies especially on the fact that ex vivo models provide an alternative in large parts for animal studies by simulating physiological conditions and thereby predicting outcomes accurately.

in vitro and ex vivo

This is highlighting the role that LifeTec Group plays within the BIOGEL network, which is to improve current biomaterial test methods by creating physiologically relevant 3D in vitro and ex vivo platforms to study biomaterial behavior and tissue interaction.

These will result in better interpretation of early biomaterial research results and more predictable translation to pre-clinical practice.
