The CompBioMed Conference 2019 closes and wraps up this project as all the partners will be present to show their work in these years.

 “The conference will address all aspects of the rapidly burgeoning domain of computational biomedicine, from genome through organ to whole human and population levels, embracing data driven, mechanistic modelling and simulation, machine learning and combinations thereof.

The conference is organized by the Centre of Excellence in Computational Biomedicine (CompBioMed), aimed at nurturing and promoting the uptake and exploitation of high-performance computing within the biomedical modelling community. LifeTec Group is part of this European consortium.

AngioSupport - interface
AngioSupport

Within this project, LifeTec Group has developed AngioSupport (in cooperation with the Catharina Hospital Eindhoven, the Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e), and Pie Medical Imaging) and investigated ways to be able to offer computer simulations to a vast number of potential users.

Bettine van Willigen will give an oral presentation about AngioSupport: a tool to support the cardiac team to define a treatment plan for patients with coronary artery disease.

These patients have one or multiple severe occlusions in the coronary arteries and for each patient a choice has to be made between coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) or percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). Therefore, we developed an interactive model that can predict the outcome of CABG or PCI to support clinical decision making of coronary interventions."

Tim van den Boom and Mattia D’Alessi will present at the poster presentations two posters on AngioSupport and two posters on CFD simulations that can be carried out at LifeTec Group.

LifeTec Group is very happy to offer computer simulations as a new service, because it’s a perfect match with what is already being done every day at our lab.
