We asked Sjoerd and Jurgen to share one memory that made TVT Chicago unforgettable for them:

Sjoerd van Tuijl
“One thing I won’t forget in a hurry was the look in the eyes of one of the hotel employees.
The unsuspecting man came into the room where we had built a ‘beating heart’ platform that day. As a true professional, he kept a straight face - just what you’d expect from the staff of a renowned hotel. But his eyes were wide and slightly panicky. A beating heart, surrounded by surgeons in OR outfits, in a Chicago hotel… To him it must have looked like a scene in a gangster movie.
As it turned out later, he and some of his colleagues had not been informed by the hotel management. The hotel apologised profusely. I mainly felt sorry for that poor man getting such a shock.”

Jurgen de Hart
“Working for a great client, as well as watching the interaction between Sjoerd, the client’s team and the client’s guests…. I loved it.” Jurgen speaks with enthusiasm and justifiable pride.
“The cherry on the cake, for me, was a brief moment at Starbucks. I was standing in line with some of this particular clients’ people, I won’t mention any names. But as we stood there, they met some of ‘the competition’, people I also knew. They had a quick conversation:

“Hey, are you guys here too? With LifeTec Group?”
“Yes, that’s right. Do you work with them as well?”
“Yes, of course - I’d almost say: who doesn’t work with LifeTec Group these days?”
Jurgen beams.“Isn’t that fantastic? Two leading medtech companies meet in Chicago at a Starbucks, they know you, and they sing the praises of LifeTec Group…
It made me feel so great, and very proud of the LifeTec Group team. At that moment I realised how much we’ve already achieved together.”
