About Júlia
Júlia is originally from Sant Cugat, a city close to Barcelona. She studied in Barcelona, where she obtained her bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC).
Shortly after she moved to the Netherlands to pursue a Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Twente, specializing in Medical Device Design. During her studies, she moved to Sweden to complete an internship at RealHeart, where she contributed to the development of a durability testing rig for artificial heart membranes, designing CAD models, prototyping, and assembling setups. For her master’s thesis, she designed a soft robotic artificial heart combining pneumatic actuation and origami-inspired structures to mimic heart motion. She also 3D printed prototypes and developed an automated testing system for performance evaluation.
Drawn by her passion for cardiovascular innovation, Júlia joined LifeTec Group in 2025, where she is involved in the Cardiac Biosimulator Platform. She will be responsible for supporting assignments, this can either be in our Eindhoven lab, or onsite and/or during events. She also enjoys exploring her creative engineering side, which will greatly help in getting our concept engineering projects to the next level, and of course improving our current platforms.
